    Stick Goes To a Concert

On Thursday night, we took Stick up to Stayton, Oregon to hear Joni Harms in concert.   Joni is a 'sort of local' girl made good.    She is from Canby, Oregon ... a very small 'cowboy town' in the Northwestern part of the state.    Joni was performing as part of the "outdoor summer concert' series ... held on the grass behind the Stayton Library.   It was a 'bring your own lawn chairs' event with grandmas, grandpas, little kids running and dancing, young people, the guys from the Moose Lodge cooking up hot dogs and hamburger for sale ....just a  WONDErFUL way to spend a lovely summer evening.

I went to talk to Joni at the break and gave her the "Reader's Digest Condensed Version" of the Traveling Stick and she was thrilled to pose for a picture.   Stick, of course, was also thrilled to have a picture made with a Grand Old Opry star!!!

If you are interested, you can find more info about Joni at Joniharms.com.  Or google for some links to You Tube videos.

    Having Fun In Eugene, Oregon

On Sunday, Stick came with us to pick blueberries.  Unfortunately,  the camera didn't come.  But here is Stick showing off our 'haul'.   The crown was lost among the blueberry bushes but I have since replaced it with one from the Royal Box.

Yesterday,  we took a walk along the beautiful Willamette River.

This morning,  we went on a long walk out to the Owen Rose Garden.  Stick really enjoyed all the beautiful flowers and we hope you will too.

Just chillin' on the bench here before we started the walk back home.

Just checking to see if there is any Stick news, and to try to bump the thread back to page 1.  Bump!

Posting on any thread or bumping it will not move it to page 1 now. Melia Tech posted on the tech thread that they have limited the # of threads on each page and now the "stuck" threads take up the whole 1st page + the 1st line of the 2nd page.

I posted on the tech thread that this is a problem... Please do so also... Thanks.

Followed your suggestion, LAP and did post on the Tech thread.

Stick deserves to be on the first page, at least when there are a lot of posts!

WHEW, so glad that stick is safe with you.  Now I can rest.  Enjoy your visit.  I pass the stick safety baton on to you.  The box was getting tight so to all future receivers - if you change boxes be sure and replace Rita's address as the return address.

I invited a few other sticks over for a small welcome party for Stick.

All the excitement and the trauma of being stuck in the Post office for a week was just too much for Stick.   Getting some rest so we can go do something tomorrow.

Yea! Thank goodness stick is safe. It is probably her crown that saved her... and her wand, it gives her special powers to live in a box with no air for so long. I can't wait to read about her adventures in Eugene. Pictures please.

Big Smile [:D] The Stick Has Arrived In Eugene

The stick is safe and resting comfortably while recovering from its long confinement at the Eugene Post Office.   Of course,  it needed a good rest after all of its many adventures.

    Judi in Mobile/Eugene:

     Hi All ...

I am still in Eugene but have been camping in the High Desert since July 7th and just returned on the 16th.   All our mail was being held at the Post Office while we were out of town.   They should deliver all mail today.   I'm certain that the Stick will be there or a notice to pick up at the post-office.  If not,  I will call the PO.  ( Assuming that it was sent via USPS. )

Will let you know as soon as the mail arrives today.

    Judi

Hurray!  Hold on, Stick....Judi is coming to the rescue!  Big Smile

Hi, Tom!  Just saw your message.  An email is on its way to you and Rita with a copy of that whole email, including Judi's email address.  Please let me know if you get it, because this laptop is driving me crazy!

Sorry if I rattled anyone; Rita's notes confused me.  That's my story, and I'm sticking with it.  Don't tell Rita I said that, O.K.?  Sandra, do you have her e-mail to inform her she has a guest waiting for her to pick it up?

    Barb- Oregon:

OMG thank you for clearing this up for me.  After all this eye surgery I am doubting myself all the time. I read it several times and was sure it said she was in Eugene until the end of August...  Thanks for helping me on this.

I think you did what she asked us to do, Barb...perhaps she'll sign on and check the thread and see what's going on.  I hope so!  At least Stick isn't lost...just cooling his heels in Oregon for a bit.

Barb, I made a copy of the mailing list before I sent Stick to you (just in case something happened to Stick), and Judy did say to mail to her Eugene address if it was to be before mid-September. You did just the right thing. Hopefully she is on a little vacation, and if she doesn't ever pick up the package, at least we know that Rita will get the box back, and she can send it on it's way again. All is well.

    Michele :-)
