The Protea is such a beautiful plant. It's named after the God Proteus who was a shape-shifter.The South African government can regulate export. Also they can set up a sanctuary or horticultural area as a natural park and preserve the region the plants come from. The only thing that  we can't change is the planet's climate and all lifeforms have to live with that fact--only the strongest and most adaptable survive.Of course they can keep samples of the plants in various greenhouses. We have the technology to save our endangered species including ourselves if we eradicate destruction.
